  • I've seen a lot of people recently complaining about changes at Pinterest. Apparently they've made UI changes to their app, they're flooded with AI generated images and ads in peoples feeds, and they're banning people like nuts for old pins they now consider too adult in nature. I did notice on desktop my profile page changed a little bit, but nothing drastic. But I also noticed pin views have been dropping. Views had been pretty consistent, but now keeps declining. Makes sense based on the changes people have been talking about. Basically, it seems Pinterest is no longer useful for the site.

Down to 2.7k views per month and dropping. I forget what it was at before... over 50k along with a trickle of clicks to this site (now none).
Looks like I can link to X images the same way I did on my custom site!

I'm not really into cartoons but did like Courage the Cowardly Dog. This sleeve is by marispupolstattoo (X or Instagram, I assume).

About every 6 months I buy a new computer and sell the old. I may have a problem lol. I bought mac to mess with mac related development but totally lost interest in it. The mac isn't upgradable and does some annoyances although overall it's been a positive experience. Probably going to buy a new laptop and then sell it. I don't need two computers, one will just collect dust. Now, is there a support group for people like me? lol

And I bought a new computer. An HP Victus. Deal was too good. Latest gen Ryzen processor and an RTX 4050 (good enough for the amount of gaming I do). 6 months from now I'll post again on my next computer :( lol

This laptop makes no noise except when gaming. Like dead quiet. So far it's been really, really, good and works excellent with Linux
I posted this at the new site. The picture below looks like it was this forum software used for MyInkedSpace from a few years ago. I like the theme. I remember doing a lot of work to try to make this look better, must have been at that time. Too bad I don't still have all that stuff. Maybe people don't like the theme I'm using 🤣 Could be why there's only 8 of us on here.

Shape shifters? I just saw a different video of a supposed shape shifter several weeks ago. Someone must be creating a hoax.

Still lots of work to do, but users will be able to make and run their own communities (at the new site). Just some of the groups of settings so far. I need to put up a page about creating and running communities with more details. Communities will have the option to be private.

Was gonna upload here but it's in an image format this forum doesn't support so need to convert it first and I don't feel like doing that right now.

I doubled the character limit of these profile posts. The admin area warned me about increasing the value so naturally I doubled it because you don't get anywhere in life by follow the rules! Wait, maybe it's the opposite of that.
Long ago before cell phones were as great as they are today and were very basic there were a handful of dating sites. One super popular one called OKCupid was well liked and had multiple choice questions people could answer to help you match with people. I copied some of those questions on various sites I've brought back over the years. I went to look at that site today and wow it's bad. Very limited. You can't browse anyone and as far as I could see it only provided a few girls I could say I'm interested in. I didn't see a way to browse questions except those answered by a girl. Speaking of girls, one of the "girls" is a fucking tranny. Like straight guys would be interested in a fucking tranny. No point ever looking at that site again.

It's a weird time we live in. I know I made big mistakes with my sites but the way that site is now is not functional compared to what it used to be. Things just go in the wrong direction. Things like this always make me want to make my own to bring back sites people used to love. Hard to get people join anything now though. Hard to get people to know about it.

It does give me an idea. I made a new LLC recently. A couple years ago I had the idea of making subdomain sites.. like whatever.mydomain.com for whatever topic. Tempting to make a cupid.mydomain.com site (a clone-ish of what okcupid used to look like or at least functionality). Then I could also make that linux.mydomain.com site, etc. Single account used for all of them.

I bought a domain and came up with a way to make this easier on myself. I'm gonna screw around with this idea.
I haven't started on a Linux social network (for switching to Linux) yet. I really need to start on that but still working on a macOS app and the website for it. I keep seeing more shady stuff Microsoft is doing and more people wanting to switch.
The site wasn't responding this morning. For some reason the server instance wasn't responding. I should look into some kind of uptime monitoring so I know about it. I only knew because I tried coming to the site. According to some metrics, it appears the server was broken for a couple hours before I noticed.

Server hung again. I added another site to the server in the last week which adds to memory usage and the server doesn't have a lot to begin with. I think the nightly processes spikes the memory up causing it to run out of memory and hang. I can either upgrade the server instance with more memory or move the site some place a little cheaper with more memory.
New Windows PC's with ARM processors (like smartphones and Apple's newer computers) will record everything you do and even take screenshots every few seconds. These new PC's are all about AI. A major privacy issue. I already run Linux so not an issue for me and I don't have one of those PC's any way but MS has been adding AI to Windows 11 for everyone though.

In 3 weeks Apple will have their event and apparently will be announcing AI. I'm planning buying a mac mini soon to play around with macOS and iOS development so I'm definitely interested in what they're adding.

At this point...I don't think it matters if theres any women. Growth is important. If it's a niche that will attract people, do it. Who cares what the gender is. Then maybe implement something later the would attract females.
But you never know - Some women are into that tech stuff too. ... even if it's not a lot..wouldn't be any diff than what is now. Northing to lose. Try it.

Right now I'm learning macOS development so less time to play around with the idea of creating that social network. It shouldn't take long to learn though. Following tutorial videos and writing the same code is a slow process. I'll probably only do that a few more days and then just watch them to learn about stuff I don't know about. Then I'll have more time again.

Somehow I need to work on both at the same time. I've gotten a working macOS app made but a ways to go before trying to sell it. Right now I feel like taking a break from it and working on a social network for people who want to switch to Linux. Maybe I'll work on that today.
I'm gonna create some kind of new website (not to replace this one). Not sure what yet though. Maybe that link pages website or something else.
Weird stuff about the upcoming eclipse (April 8th). School closings, state of emergencies in multiple states, national guard out, being told to stock up on food and gas. Supposedly because of an increase in people traveling to see the eclipse. Maybe I'm just forgetting, but I don't remember any of that for any other eclipse. There was a total eclipse in 2017.
iPhone apparently has a privacy issue where your location and full name can be shared. I don't have an iPhone any more so can't verify.

𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: There’s a new iPhone setting that can allow your geolocation and full name to be shared. In order to turn this setting off:

    𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝟭: Settings
    𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: Privacy & Security
    𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: Journaling Suggestions
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟰: Switch to "Off" the section that reads "Discoverable by Others"
