If you have any old phones hanging around, just collecting dust, there's a way you can activate them to get FREE text, talk and data. No, it isn't that phone that you have to qualify by being low income or on some kind of assistance. Its actually just FREE. You do need to have an actual phone that's unlocked... that you own.
To be sure if you can activate the old phone, just type the phone's IMEI number, click "check my phone" and it'll let you know. I've checked 2 of mine so far and they're both able to get a number and free plan. I'm sure it's not gonna be anything great like our regular lines but a great emergency backup if anything ever happens. I'm sure we all had our phone break and had no use until the new one was delivered or even just being without a phone to go get another one...it sucks. So it's a good idea to always have some kind of emergency backup... multiple, if possible. That's all different lines and numbers for all type old phones that aren't doing anything but sitting in a pile anyway. So why not.
There is ONE catch.... you gotta buy the sim card. But it's only $5. $5 for a PHONE LINE / NUMBER? Sounds reasonable to me.
Just go to text now and start checking those imei numbers.
The only reason I haven't done it yet is because I need to talk to someone there because some of my phone don't even have a sim card tray. No way to put a physical sim card in so I'm not sure how that works in that case.
But some of my phone are that old that they do.
Not everybody is low income or on some kind of government assistance to qualify for those free phones. I been trying to get one. I finally found this.
Edit: just found this video that goes more into depth about it

If you don't have walmart+ - I highly recommend getting it. I'm sick. Been sick a cpl days and really don't wanna go nowhere. I was shopping in bed last night to have bacon, eggnog and some other stuff come right to my this am (9 -11) - I've got something else being delivered by 9 pm at my business - multiple orders, 2 having just 1 item each and I didn't pay any shipping, didn't need to spend a minimum amount and I really wanna make some bacon and eggs but just don't feel good to go anywhere and sef not making that nasty turkey bacon I have. It's so convenient. You get other perks w it like free paramount, gas savings etc. Wheen I first signed up for it a few years ago, I debated, thinning, well I don't really order from there much n how i got amazon n it'd just be another monthly fee that's prob a waste but has actually saved me a lot of money. They do expect a minimum for the same day delivery where someone from the store brings your shit to your door but not for shipping. The only reason I even had to wait til this morning for my delivery is cuz I kept getting sidetracked losing the reserved spots I had for last night but I finally got to finish my order around midnight. Went to bed knowing I'd wake up to my stuff coming early and even had til 545 am to make changes or add stuff if I forgot anything. It's highly worth having this subscription.
